Undergraduate School and Major: TA PAI Institute of Management – Post Graduate Diploma in Management – Finance and IT Most Recent Employer and Job Title: JPMorgan Chase – Operations Strategy Analyst What excites you most about studying in Washington, DC? Washington D.C.’s vibrant culture, diverse cuisines, rich history, and world-class museums, offering endless opportunities for learning and exploration. Aside from your classmates and location, what was the key part of Georgetown McDonough’s MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? For me, apart from curriculum and experiential business opportunities, the main deciding factor is the community. In conversations with McDonough’s alumni, I was drawn to the incredibly collaborative community at Georgetown. And for someone who values shared successes over individual competition, Georgetown McDonough was the perfect school for me! What course, club or activity excites you the most at Georgetown McDonough? At Georgetown, I aspire to spearhead the establishment of the Board Consulting Practicum initiative within the McDonough School of Business. This ground-breaking program envisions McDonough students assuming roles as ‘board fellows’, immersing themselves in the operational dynamics of non-profit organizations in Washington, D.C. Georgetown McDonough programming focuses heavily on instilling a global mindset. Why is exposure to global diversity so critical to business success? While transforming the Custody Inquiries process for JPMorgan, I interacted with stakeholders from diverse cultures, including Japan, North America, and India. I realized that their requirements and inputs varied significantly based on cultural contexts. For someone like me, who has predominantly interacted with clients and teams in India, this experience underscored the importance of cultural knowledge. It highlighted the need to adapt communication and collaboration styles to effectively address and integrate varied perspectives. This cultural insight is crucial for leading global teams, fostering stronger relationships, and driving more impactful, inclusive business outcomes. Looking at your recruitment, what was the moment when you realized Georgetown McDonough was the right program for you? Why? The moment I realized Georgetown McDonough was the right program for me was when I attended a virtual information session and heard firsthand about the Career Center’s robust activities and personalized support for recruiting. The unparalleled access to top firms in key East Coast hubs like New York, Boston, and D.C. was incredibly compelling. Additionally, the large and always-ready-to-help alumni network, providing connections to leading MNCs and consulting firms, solidified my decision. Georgetown McDonough’s strategic location, coupled with its strong industry ties and supportive community, offered the perfect environment to achieve my career aspirations. Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: While re-designing the billing management process for an IT MNC when I was at EY, I performed an analysis on the time worked on fixed price contracts, which is usually not performed for billing management projects. Trusting my intuition led to me figuring out that, despite deploying additional technology, there was no reduction in the manpower costs in their customer contracts. After speaking to multiple subject matter experts, I came up with a solution to amend contract terms which enabled an increase in revenue for the client. After incorporating this solution, the clients’ revenue increased by $25 million. This success accelerated my growth and opened doors for me to collaborate with EY’s senior leadership. Looking ahead two years, what would make your MBA experience successful? My MBA experience will be successful if I build a strong professional network, gain comprehensive knowledge of various business functions, develop significant leadership experiences, and discover unknown parts of myself, ultimately growing both personally and professionally.
