Mendoza has some of the brightest minds I have ever come across.

Aside from your classmates, what was the one key part of the Mendoza MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? Experiential learning was a pivotal factor in my decision to choose Mendoza for my MBA. The school excels in this area, offering programs such as the Meyer Business on the Frontlines (BOTFL) and Mod Away experiences in Silicon Valley and Chile. These opportunities provide invaluable hands-on practical experience, demonstrating Mendoza’s commitment to creating a positive global impact. While the overall curriculum is impressive, the chance to engage in these experiential learning programs truly distinguished Mendoza for me.

What course, club or activity have you enjoyed the most so far at Mendoza? The course I have enjoyed the most at Mendoza is Managerial Economics, taught by Prof. Kristen Collett-Schmit. Her engaging teaching style, which includes quick group presentations and regular macroeconomic updates, makes the learning experience both enjoyable and informative. She ensures that students stay informed about global economic trends, which adds a practical dimension to the coursework.

Additionally, I have thoroughly enjoyed the football home games. The experience, from tailgating with classmates and peers to the electrifying atmosphere at the stadium, is unparalleled. The camaraderie and school spirit make these events a highlight of my time at Mendoza, providing a perfect balance to the academic rigor.

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: Leading three different teams concurrently (a total of 24 people) and taking to market the most successful digital banking app in Nigeria. I started with leading a team of product managers, and had the added responsibility of leading the operations and customer support teams. Taking on the challenge and improving process efficiency, set targets were surpassed and I could see the positive impact my leadership had on my team.

Describe your biggest accomplishment as an MBA student so far? My biggest accomplishment as an MBA student so far has been successfully transitioning from a professional setting back to academia after over 13 years in the workforce. Initially, the thought of returning to school was unnerving. However, I recognized the need to reflect on my career and determine my next steps. The faculty and staff at Mendoza and Notre Dame have been instrumental in this transition, providing unwavering support and demonstrating that I still possess the skills and capabilities to excel. Additionally, I have had the privilege of meeting incredible individuals who have helped me discover new interests and broaden my perspective. This journey has been both challenging and rewarding, reaffirming my decision to pursue an MBA.

Mendoza is known as a purpose-driven MBA program that asks students to “Grow the good in business.” What is your mission and how has Mendoza been helping you realize it? My goal is to use business as a tool for change and make a positive impact in every organization I work for. This involves focusing on leadership with purpose, responsibility and the incorporation of sustainable business practices. I am able to achieve this through Mendoza’s MBA program. This program has given me a strong ethical consideration, helped develop a comprehensive understanding of business and gain practical learning experiences. Also, it has highlighted the importance of community involvement as a key to effective and sustainable business strategies. In all these Mendoza has helped me get the knowledge and tools to be a leader with purpose and has created a platform for growing the good in businesses.
