What makes Atlanta such a great place to earn an MBA?

Atlanta is a large and dynamic city with a diverse and fast-growing economy. Traditionally, it has been a thriving business hub and is quickly growing in diverse sectors, offering strong opportunities in Fintech, healthcare, and logistics. Therefore, as someone pursuing a career in consulting, I strongly believe that Atlanta will be the perfect place to be exposed to diverse companies, regardless of their size, that are full of opportunities to be connected to various industry leaders and professionals.

Aside from your classmates and location, what was the key part of Emory Goizueta’s MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? Deciding which program to choose was even more difficult than the application process itself. The ultimate differentiator for Emory Goizueta was the dedicated support offered to individual students, especially in career preparation.

Goizueta’s Career Management Center (CMC) stands out for highly personalized one-on-one coaching, which was a decisive factor for me. As an international student, I wanted structured, expert guidance to help me navigate the unfamiliar US recruiting market. During my conversations with Liz, the director of CMC, I witnessed the professionalism and passion within this team and a strong and genuine commitment to students’ success.  Speaking to other faculty and current students truly assured me that Goizueta’s support is an active partnership. With such strong support, I am eager to pursue my ambitions to the fullest and maximize my learning and career outcomes at Goizueta.

What course, club or activity excites you the most at Emory Goizueta? The Goizueta IMPACT programs excites me the most because it provides the real hands-on experience to step out of my comfort zone, yet within the safety net of the supportive environment. It will be a great opportunity to test myself and overcome my limitations by facing real-world challenges and actively improving myself.

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: As a brand manager at CUSKIN, a Korean Skincare brand and a manufacturer, my biggest accomplishment was leading a cross-functional team to rebrand one of our major skincare lines. The challenge was to reverse the declining sales in the current market and expand into new markets to increase sales.

I led the market research and built strategy towards a new brand concept and positioning. I executed a campaign leveraging influencers and digital channels. As a result, within just 8 months, we successfully entered new regional markets and increased 30% of sales in existing markets.

Beyond the numbers, this experience fostered unprecedented collaborative teamwork across the departments and strengthened my leadership, communications and strategic analytic skills, which prepared me to take greater challenges in pursuing my consulting career.

Looking ahead two years, what would make your Emory MBA experience a success? Looking ahead two years I believe my Emory MBA experience will be a true success if I accomplish both personal and professional growth through the exclusive opportunities that the school offers.

On a personal level, I want to build strong relationships with peers, faculty and alumni. By actively participating in student clubs, case competitions and diverse community initiatives, I will expand my cultural perspectives. This will also lead to building a strong, supportive and lifelong network to enrich my life.

Professionally, I expect to broaden my understanding of global markets and sharpen my adaptability, which are essential in my target career of consulting. Unique programs such as the Global Experiential Modules (GEMs), IMPACT and the Leadership Reaction Course led by prestigious faculty will help me to foster diverse experiences and allow me to apply learned business concepts in real-world settings.

I believe success means not only achieving my planned goals, but also embracing unexpected growth, resilience and perspectives.
