INSEAD is one of the most culturally and professionally diverse MBA programs in the world. How do you see these global perspectives enhancing the value of your business education over the next year? The global perspectives INSEAD provides throughout the program will be essential for my understanding of international trade and cultural dynamics. While globalization has been on an upward trend in recent decades, the current macroeconomic environment has become more protectionist of respective national interests. Coming from Denmark, an economy highly dependent on international collaboration, it is essential to understand cross border dynamics and potential strategies to mitigate this. INSEAD’s globally focused MBA and diverse class intake will strengthen this toolbox, something I look forward to using in my future career.

Why did you choose a one-year program over a two-year program? How do you see an INSEAD MBA giving you an advantage in the marketplace? I deliberated between different MBA programs, and the duration was a key factor in my decision. As industries are evolving at unprecedented speed, I do not want to be away from the market for too long. The one-year program offers the perfect balance of global learnings and the ability to re-enter the workforce with sharpened skills quicker.

Aside from your classmates, what was the key part of INSEAD’s MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? The access to two campuses, specifically one in Asia, was a key component for choosing INSEAD. During my undergraduate degree, I was selected for a 1.5-year program focusing on global supply chains and logistics management. For the duration of the program, I attended respectively one semester at my home school, the University of British Columbia and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Having courses taught by local professors and being in the environment provides perspectives that are difficult to achieve remotely. With the increased focus on supply chains and derisking, I wanted to be exposed to as many global perspectives as possible. With INSEAD I found the option to study at both the French and Singaporean campus a key value proposition. I really look forward to taking courses on Asian market dynamics and participating in company visits locally onsite.

What course, club or activity excites you the most at INSEAD? INSEAD Technology Media and Telecom (TMT) Club.

INSEAD has a strong selection of clubs to partake in, allowing me to tailor the MBA experience to my interests. I am specifically keen on participating in the TMT club, where I look forward to interesting discussions and events with fellow classmates regarding the rapidly-changing industries.

What has been your first impression of the INSEAD MBA students and alumni you’ve met so far. Tell us your best INSEAD story so far. Every INSEAD student and alum I have spoken to describes the program as transformational. Not just for their careers, but also in how they think and engage with the world. A moment that crystallized this for me happened unexpectedly on a trip to Colombia. While speaking with a fellow traveler about our ambitions, I mentioned my plans to attend INSEAD. His face immediately lit up as his mother was an alum. What followed was not just a networking anecdote, but a testament to INSEAD’s lasting impact. He shared how her experience had reshaped their family’s trajectory, from dinner-table stories of global classmates to the confidence it gave her as a leader. Years later, it inspired him to pursue an MBA as well.

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: In Denmark, it is most common to enter the job market post finishing your graduate degree. However, upon finishing my undergraduate degree, I decided to pursue an unconventional route and apply for a full-time analyst position at a Danish private equity firm. I was interested in investing, but I had limited prior professional experience. Breaking into an industry with limited experience and a competitive setting was my greatest accomplishment. I was able to kickstart my professional career earlier and gain exposure to a steep and rewarding learning curve.

What do you hope to do after graduation (at this point)?  INSEAD’s tech-focused electives and entrepreneurial ecosystem were decisive factors in my application. I am excited to explore how technological innovation is reshaping finance and other industries through hands-on projects and exchanges with classmates from tech backgrounds. While private equity has given me strong fundamentals in value creation, I am particularly interested in where those skills intersect with emerging technologies – whether it be in tech investing, fintech, or tech-enabled businesses. INSEAD will give me the exposure and network to evaluate these opportunities with a fresh perspective.

What advice would you give to help potential applicants gain admission into INSEAD’s MBA program? Focus on which personal attributes you can bring to contribute to INSEAD’s purpose. How can you contribute to the diverse environment? What has historically proven that you can contribute to this? If you find it difficult to think of something, then it is never too late to proactively pursue something you find exciting. Join a local club, organize an event you are passionate about, or take the culturally-immersive language course you have always dreamt about. Embodying the ideas you have will make your application more authentic and will stand out in a pool of qualified applicants. Good luck!
