P&Q’s Must Reads: Poets&Quants’ Best Undergraduate Business Schools Of 2026

Hello everyone  — Welcome back to Poets&Quants’ Must Reads, a quick, digestible recap of the top business school news, sponsored by CentreCourt, P&Q’s virtual admission events.

I’m your host, Kristy Bleizeffer, and I’ll be highlighting the most important P&Q stories you might have missed. So, let’s get to it.

No. 1: Poets&Quants’ Best Undergraduate Business Schools Of 2026

This week, we released our annual ranking of the best undergraduate business programs in the United States. And, for the eighth time in 10 years, University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School has topped the list.

Wharton is followed by the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce which rose two spots from last year to No. 2.  Cornell University’s Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management fell one spot to No. 3.

Find the full ranking at poetsandquantsforundergrads.com, and then watch the site over the next several weeks as we dive deep into the extensive data collected for the ranking.

No. 2: Rejected By Stanford In 2025. Admitted In 2026. Here’s What Changed.

The rejection came on a Thursday or Friday evening in March 2025. A product manager at Microsoft living in Sunnyvale, California, had applied to Stanford’s Master of Science in Management Science and Engineering program – one of the most selective graduate programs in the country. The answer was no.

By Monday morning, he was already back at his desk, working on the essays again.

Follow his journey – and how he ultimately got the acceptance – from our homepage.

No. 3: Wharton Sweeps The 2026 B-School Research Rankings Again

And, in other Wharton ranking news, The University of Pennsylvania’s  leading B-school has topped twin annual North American and worldwide rankings on research strength.

Wharton, in fact, has finished No. 1 in all three major 2026 research rankings including those administered by The Financial Times’  and the University of Texas at Dallas Jindal School of Management, which released its worth and North American lists last week.

You can read more about Wharton’s research prowess and the full ranking now from our trending tab.
