P&Q: What are two ways that your program is incorporating Artificial Intelligence into your programming? How do they better prepare students for the future world of work?

Mabley: “We continue to launch additional foundational and integrated AI courses each year—AI in Business and Society, AI for Competitive Advantage, Predictive Analytics and Data Mining, AI Strategies for Digital Transformation, and Artificial Intelligence in Marketing—and we’ve expanded our AI programming in two important ways that reflect how work is evolving.

First, we introduced a Human–Machine Collaboration course taught by Shefali Patil, which focuses on the leadership challenges of managing AI-enabled organizations. Rather than centering solely on technical capability, this course helps students understand the uniquely human role in overseeing AI and robotic resources—where judgment, accountability, and ethical decision-making matter most. Students learn how to design effective human-AI workflows, determine when human oversight is essential, and lead teams through automation without losing culture, trust, or values.

Second, we’ve developed an AI micro-credentialing and digital badging program that allows students to translate their learning into verified, stackable, employer-facing credentials. These badges signal specific AI competencies, from tool fluency to applied decision-making, and can be shared on professional platforms like LinkedIn. They give employers clear visibility into what students know how to do, not just what courses they’ve taken.

Our graduates leave understanding how AI works and how to deploy it responsibly, manage its risks, and lead organizations where technology amplifies human judgment and leadership.”

P&Q: What types of educational and career support do you provide to alumni after graduation? How does it make them more valuable to employers during their careers?

Mabley: “We provide lifelong career management support because we know an MBA is less of a terminal degree than the foundation of a career that will evolve over decades.

Our alumni continue to have access to career coaching and advising as they navigate promotions, career pivots, and leadership transitions. This ongoing support helps graduates stay intentional about their growth as industries, technologies, and roles continue to change.

We also offer continued upskilling and lifelong learning opportunities, enabling alumni to stay current in areas like AI, leadership development, and emerging business models. These programs allow graduates to refresh and expand their skills well beyond the classroom, ensuring they remain competitive and relevant throughout their careers.

Mentorship is another key pillar. Our alumni network connects graduates across career stages, creating a cycle where experienced leaders mentor earlier-career alumni while also gaining insight into new trends and perspectives.

For employers, this means McCombs alumni bring more than their original MBA training. They bring adaptability, continuous learning, and access to an active professional network, making them leaders who continue to grow, contribute, and add value long well beyond graduation.”
