After spending much of my career in New York City, I intentionally chose to build my next chapter in Atlanta. The city offers the perfect balance of opportunity and community, with a thriving consulting ecosystem, a diverse business landscape, and a collaborative culture that makes it easy to build meaningful relationships. Atlanta isn’t just where I’m earning my MBA. It’s where I’m building my future. Aside from your classmates and location, what was the key part of Emory Goizueta’s MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? What stood out most about Goizueta was its emphasis on experiential learning. Rather than simply learning business concepts in the classroom, students have repeated opportunities to apply them through experiences like Growth Week and the IMPACT project. As a musician and teacher, I’ve learned that the greatest growth rarely comes from theory alone; it comes from putting ideas into practice. Combined with Goizueta’s collaborative culture and approachable faculty, I knew it was the ideal environment to challenge myself, build lasting relationships, and develop into the kind of leader I hope to become. What course, club or activity excites you the most at Emory Goizueta? I’m especially excited about Goizueta Nonprofit Consultants and its Board Fellows program. It combines several things that are important to me: learning how organizations are governed, using business skills to support mission-driven organizations, and serving the Atlanta community. I’d love the opportunity to work with an arts organization and connect my background in music with the business skills I’m developing at Goizueta, but I’ll be equally excited to support any nonprofit making a meaningful impact. Long-term, I hope to serve on nonprofit boards myself, so this feels like a unique opportunity to begin developing the skills and perspective to contribute in that role. Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: Performing in Carnegie Hall was a lifelong dream come true, but building a business that allowed me to mentor students to achieve their own dreams has been even more meaningful. Looking ahead two years, what would make your Emory MBA experience a success? Two years from now, I hope to look back and see just how much I’ve grown – not only in business knowledge, but as a leader and teammate. Success would mean building lifelong relationships with classmates, faculty, and alumni, embracing opportunities that push me outside my comfort zone, and graduating with the confidence to solve meaningful business challenges. I hope to leave Goizueta with the skills, perspective, and relationships that will shape the rest of my career. © Copyright 2026 Poets&Quants. All rights reserved.
