Fun Fact: I hunt for offbeat destinations to travel and chase new perspectives, unique people and unforgettable experiences. Undergraduate School and Major: Vellore Institute of Technology, Computer Science and Engineering (Specialization in Bioinformatics) Most Recent Employer and Job Title: State Bank of India – Credit Security Officer (Deputy Manager) Aside from your classmates, what was the key part of IIM Bangalore’s MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? The biggest draw for me was IIM Bangalore’s rigorous, case-based learning approach. I wanted an MBA that would challenge my assumptions, sharpen my strategic thinking, and expose me to real-world business problems rather than just theoretical concepts. The EPGP’s emphasis on leadership, critical thinking, and practical application perfectly aligned with my aspiration to transition from an execution-heavy role to strategic leadership. What has been your favorite course or extracurricular activity at IIM Bangalore? What has been the most important lesson that you have learned from it? My favorite course has been Competition and Strategy. I found it fascinating to study how successful companies build and sustain competitive advantages over time. The course taught me that long-term success is rarely accidental and every capability, decision, and investment is part of a carefully designed strategy. What makes Bengaluru such as great place to earn your MBA? Bengaluru offers the perfect environment to grow both personally and professionally. As India’s startup capital, the city is filled with inspiring stories of innovation and entrepreneurship that encourage you to think differently and dream bigger. What I appreciate most, however, is the balance it offers. The pleasant weather and abundant green spaces make it easy to step away from the intensity of the MBA and recharge. Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: One of my proudest career accomplishments has been growing into the role of Deputy Manager at the State Bank of India, where I managed complex banking relationships and supported businesses through critical financial decisions. The role strengthened my analytical thinking, leadership, and decision-making abilities while reinforcing the importance of building trust with customers. It also inspired me to pursue continuous learning through professional certifications and reinforced in me the desire to pursue an MBA to enhance my skills, which ultimately led to my decision to join the EPGP program at IIM Bangalore to prepare for broader strategic leadership roles. Describe your biggest accomplishment as an MBA student so far: Honestly, it is getting back to swimming and the gym consistently despite a genuinely hectic schedule. It sounds small, but rebuilding that routine while adjusting to MBA workload taught me more about time management and protecting non-negotiables than any case study did and it has paid off in the form of sharper focus during the academic grind. What is your class’s favorite hangout away from school? Why do you gather there? Pravakar’s has become our unofficial classroom outside the classroom. What begins as a quick refreshment break often turns into engaging discussions on business, careers, economics, leadership and life. It’s where diverse perspectives come together, friendships grow stronger, and some of our best ideas emerge. What do you hope to do after graduation? After graduation, I aspire to transition into a strategy-focused role where I can combine my banking experience with the analytical and strategic capabilities developed during the EPGP. In the long term, I hope to lead business transformation initiatives that leverage technology, innovation and data-driven decision-making to create sustainable value for organizations and society. What advice would you give to help potential applicants gain admission into IIM Bangalore? Be authentic and let your experiences speak for themselves. Rather than trying to fit a perfect profile, focus on clearly communicating your journey, your motivations and what you hope to contribute to the classroom. Demonstrate curiosity, resilience, and a willingness to learn from others. IIM Bangalore values individuals who are not only accomplished professionals but also collaborative learners with a genuine desire to create meaningful impact. © Copyright 2026 Poets&Quants.
