What makes Atlanta such a great place to earn an MBA? Atlanta is a big city but feels like a small town. From its rich music scene and passionate sports culture to its diverse food landscape, it truly is a melting pot of the South. It has been remarkably easy to build meaningful connections and develop a genuine sense of belonging. Plus, the people I have met and the experiences they have shared have already had a lasting impact on me. Beyond the community, Atlanta offers endless opportunities to explore. Whether visiting the amazing museums, enjoying its urban parks, or taking a short drive to scenic lakes and mountains, there is always something new to experience. It is a city that encourages both personal and professional growth, making it an exceptional place to live, learn, and prepare for the next chapter of my career.

Aside from your classmates and location, what was the key part of Emory Goizueta’s MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? If I had to choose one reason why I chose the Goizueta MBA, it would be the many experiential learning opportunities woven throughout the curriculum. That was the defining factor for me because I wanted an MBA where learning did not stop at the classroom door. I was looking for a program where theory and practice continually reinforce each other, allowing me to apply what I learn while developing the judgment to lead in complex, real-world situations.

Goizueta IMPACT embodies exactly that. Rather than waiting until after graduation to solve meaningful business challenges, I will have the opportunity to work alongside classmates on real client engagements where our recommendations can create lasting value for organizations. Knowing that our work has the potential to influence real decisions makes the learning experience far more meaningful. It is the kind of hands-on environment where I know I will be challenged, grow as a leader, and graduate better prepared to make an immediate impact.

What course, club or activity excites you the most at Emory Goizueta? I’m particularly excited to join the Black MBA Association. After having worked with several businesses and on several projects in Ghana and Africa, I would love to share my experiences and brilliant ways we solved problems with the Association and the entire Goizueta community. I would also love to hear experiences from other parts of Africa and the world at large. Through the Black MBAA, I would be able to give back to the broader Atlanta community through impactful charitable service events while refining my own leadership development alongside a network committed to academic excellence and diversity.

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: My biggest accomplishment has been leading Access Bank’s newly established flagship branch to build a strong market presence early in my career. Starting with a blank slate, I earned the trust of a cross-functional team and introduced customer-focused operational improvements that helped establish the branch as a credible competitor in a highly saturated market. I started with the people, not the products, since I needed to accelerate my team’s learning curve to deliver results. More meaningful than the numbers was proving to myself that leadership is earned through service, collaboration, and empowering others to succeed. I was highly recommended for the role and chose to embrace the challenge, stepping well outside my comfort zone.

Looking ahead two years, what would make your Emory MBA experience a success? My experience at Goizueta over the next two years would be a success if I get to live its core values: Courage, Integrity, Accountability, Rigor, Diversity, Team, and Community. They are not just words or marketing strategy. They’re intentionally lived every day. Throughout my application journey, every alumnus, current student, and faculty member I interacted with genuinely embodied these values. It created an overwhelming sense of support and belonging that made me confident Goizueta was the right fit for me. Witnessing that authentic alignment inspired me, and I can’t wait to pay it forward. I believe all of this will create a community that will open doors, challenge me to grow, and truly cheer me on. Because the program is small by design, I know I will be surrounded by people who are just as invested in my success as I am in theirs.
