EDHEC’s Global MBA has repeatedly ranked among the world’s Top programmes for ESG education by the Financial Times. Along with high rankings, the school’s unique environment contributes to a great MBA experience. EDHEC’ MBA campus in Nice is a modern building overlooking the Mediterranean Sea near the Arenas business district – a 20-minute tram ride from the city centre. The MBA invites collaboration and relationship-building among peers, with its own dedicated floor and facilities, including work rooms for group study and a kitchen area. The school is located strategically near one of Europe’s biggest technology parks called Sophia Antipolis, which is said to be Europe’s Silicon Valley. With over 2,200 companies and 36,000 employees, Nice serves as an ideal environment for MBA students to build their social capital. The established tourism industry in Nice means that it’s quite expat-friendly, and while its beautiful beaches certainly draw a crowd, students fall into a Nice rhythm, with its classic cafés and buzzing bistros. The EDHEC MBA is quite intense – with just 10 months of study taught in English alongside a diverse cohort, this year with around 70 students representing over 30 nationalities. On average, students are 31 years old with about 7 years of work experience. EDHEC offers the option to extend the program to 11-16 months by adding an internship or an international exchange. September to February is allotted to learning foundational material such as strategy, innovation, and business management as well as finance, analytics, risk and personal/organizational leadership skills. The curriculum has also been updated to incorporate ESG throughout the programme and now also includes a 5-month Sustainable Impact Challenge. Working in teams, students tackle a real-life issue or problem presented by a wide range of businesses. The challenge final sees each team pitch their sustainable business solution to a jury and the participating companies, allowing them to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of critical ESG factors facing organisations today. From March to June, students explore interests with their foundational understanding through electives, specializations, and MBA projects. The electives are offered in March followed by the specialization tracks. Specializations are offered in international finance, global leadership, entrepreneurship, and digital innovation. Each span one month, with a one-week international business trip to a relevant destination. The 2-month MBA project is specially tailored to post-MBA ambitions, and can be carried out as a consulting project, internship (with the possibility for extension post-MBA), sustainability project, research project, business plan, or academic exchange. With the program being quite global, EDHEC recognizes that many MBAs embark on this journey with their partner or families, and they invite them to attend one of EDHEC’s French courses. “Leaders must develop the vision and skills necessary to lead their organizations to success. Our goal is always to bring out well-rounded, value-driven, inspirational and reflective leaders who make a positive difference to the business world,” says Stéphane Canonne, Associate Dean of EDHEC Executive Education & MBAs.
