Alice Lam

After doing extensive research on a number of admission consultants, I decided to go ahead with Alice. What set her apart from the rest of the counsellors I had spoken to, was that from our first interaction itself she was keen to learn more about my journey and provided useful insights and honest feedback on things that I could work on to improve my application. I really appreciated her candour as I was looking for someone who wouldn’t be afraid to give me honest feedback. She was more than happy to answer all my queries and not once did I feel rushed during the entire length of our initial consultation. It was also a big positive that she had a background in healthcare and I felt she could help me bring out the best elements in my application. Another aspect that stood out about Expartus, was that my initial consultation was with someone that I could be potentially working with on my applications, instead of being assigned someone later. This was also a major factor in my decision, as it removed the uncertainty of being assigned someone I realised I didn’t work well with midway through the process. Before I got started on my essays, Alice spent considerable time helping me craft my personal brand, constantly probing me to dig deeper. In hindsight, this exercise of self-introspection really helped me bring out the best elements in my application, which wouldn’t have been possible without Alice constantly pushing me to think harder. This helped me highlight aspects of my life which I had initially thought weren’t useful to my application. She worked with me on countless versions of each essay to make sure I submitted the best application. Alice also sought feedback from her colleagues before I finalized my essays. Lastly, I was really impressed with her turnaround time. I knew I could drop her a message and would get a response within hours. This was especially comforting and assuring to know, given the stressful application process. Alice has helped me through every aspect of the application process – resumes, selecting my recommenders, essays, video essays to the interviews. She really went the extra mile, working with me even through the holidays. One instance, she took the time to help me with interview practice even though she had a prior family commitment. This really demonstrates her dedication and commitment to helping applicants do their best. She also set up practice interview sessions with her colleagues. It was really useful to have feedback from different people as it made sure that I put my best foot forward on interview day. Overall, I have had a superb experience with Alice, without her help I would not have been able to build a strong application. I highly recommend Alice to anyone applying for an MBA program!!
