Emily Lammers

As a non-traditional candidate from biomedical research, I was initially told by another consultant that my target programs were out of reach. After reviewing my profile, Emily jumped in and worked with me diligently. She carefully explored my experiences to tease out high-value stories, including those I had not paid much attention to, to craft a compelling application.
Emily was both supportive and strategic and paid the utmost attention to every detail. She emphasized the importance of authenticity, which not only led to a very satisfying application but also contributed to my long-term personal growth. Thanks to Emily’s help in putting my best foot forward, I was admitted to HBS. I couldn’t have reached this goal without her!

Working with Emily was one of the best choices I made during the MBA application process. From the very beginning, she was an active listener, taking the time to hear my life experiences, accomplishments and ideas. She helped me pull everything together into a clear, cohesive story that actually felt like me. She really helped me find my “why”, which has helped me beyond the application process in identifying my future career goals.

She went above and beyond helping me translate my unique, unconventional professional experience into a competitive application. While working together, I was deployed with the military, in a completely different time zone and had an unpredictable schedule. In addition to this, leaving the military and pursuing graduate school can be a daunting and emotional journey. Emily’s strategic, deliberate, and informed approach greatly helped me manage the stressfulness of the process. Her storytelling will help capture the best of your experiences. The essay revisions and interview prep can be tough, but obviously that’s why you want her. She not only helped me navigate my application but also the greater journey of rediscovering my “why”. I feel so much more aligned with my sense of self after going through this process and getting into my top school. I can’t recommend her enough. She has a gift!

Emily is so much more than an MBA Admissions Consultant. She’s a mentor, friend, and on many occasions…a therapist. Working with Emily has not only made the process of applying to business school easier, but she has helped me craft a narrative that is true to who I am, which will pay dividends even after obtaining a graduate degree. I feel incredibly fortunate to have been able to find Emily to work with during my MBA admissions process and wouldn’t have been able to put together the same quality of application without her. She really put in the effort to get to know me and understand the specifics of my story, application components, and motivations. While she helped immensely in the crafting of my story and application narrative, what stuck out to me was how much she truly coached me to improve my own storytelling and writing. Just when I thought my MBA journey had come to an end, Emily stepped in and completely changed the game. With a lower than average undergraduate GPA and test scores, I wasn’t sure how much hope I had left—especially after landing on the waitlist at Haas. But Emily quickly reviewed my full application, refined my essays, and helped me craft a clear, personalized, and effective waitlist strategy that ultimately got me admitted.

What impressed me most was her sharp eye for storytelling and her ability to highlight the most compelling aspects of my background, even the parts I once saw as weaknesses. She was honest, responsive, and highly strategic, helping me focus on exactly what would move the needle. I can confidently say I wouldn’t be headed to my MBA program without her.

I’ve had an amazing experience working with Emily on 5 schools (some comprehensive and some hourly). I went back and forth on whether to hire an admissions consultant and talked to 9 consultants before finding Emily. She is so incredibly supportive, encouraging, and helpful. I work well in teams (Emily helped me discover that about myself!) and I loved brainstorming ideas with Emily and sharing my application process successes and challenges with her. The application process would have been a lot more stressful and a lot less fun without Emily’s guidance. I recommend her wholeheartedly!

I had expectations about what the application process would be, they were almost entirely wrong. For the first time since high school, I was forced into a position to ask myself what I want. Where do I want to be? What do I want to do? Without Emily I would have cobbled together a superficial narrative that fell apart at first contact. She pushed me much further than ever would have been possible on my own. Even absent the more abstract portions of the application, her advice on the more technical components (like the resume and supplemental info) brought all the disparate pieces together into an articulation of myself that I felt proud to submit. She made the process much more efficient, much less stressful, and while maybe it’s crazy to say, at some points perhaps actually a little fun. I can confidently say that without Emily I would not have achieved my goal and the process would have been substantially more painful!

I had a longer application process that included getting waitlisted and Emily was so encouraging and supportive throughout it. She was incredibly organized and gave clear feedback during the essay writing process. Her timeline was very approachable and allowed me to put my best foot forward during this competitive process. I would highly recommend Emily to everyone because she truly goes above and beyond for her clients!!!!

Emily was a fantastic coach, and I don’t know how I could have made it through my applications without her. She was supportive, knowledgable, and strategic in approaching the applications. She gave me a realistic timeline to follow and kept the entire process relatively stress free 🙂

Emily was highly recommended from a few friends who worked with her in previous years, and I totally understand why. She spent time understanding my full story and gave me honest and insightful feedback on what parts of my story I should highlight for AdComs. I found her previous experience and relationships invaluable as I customized my applications to multiple top tier schools. She has been not only a strategic resource, but also a supportive friend throughout this (at times) frustrating application process.
