Hi Mr. Development Consultant, It sounds like you’re doing very important work improving the COVID vaccine delivery process! This is Debbie Choy from mbaMission and GSB alum. I think you have a lot of strengths in your profile – strong work performance (promotion, recognition) and active community leadership (volunteering in education and leading a water project). It also sounds like you have a very entrepreneurial mindset with side projects during school. That said, I think your undergrad GPA could be a concern for GSB. You can potentially offset it with a high GMAT score. 730 is right around the average at the GSB. If you can score higher than that, it will strengthen your profile. Apart from that, it looks like you have 3 post-MBA goals …
Apart from that, it looks like you have 3 post-MBA goals you are considering. Each option has a somewhat different path. As you put your apps together, I suggest picking one option and sticking with it. I recommend picking one option that would be the most achievable given your background and transferable skills. Naturally, it still needs to be somewhat of a “stretch goal”, i.e. you’d have to explain why you need an MBA. What specific skills or knowledge do you seek to gain at GSB that will help you achieve your future goal? Finally, don’t forget to dig deeper and share personal stories in your essays that explain your motivation for your goals and what drives you. For example, why did you decide to start the adhesive packaging business? How have your personal experiences motivated you to volunteer with schools? I think if you can weave in your personal stories in a compelling way, you’d have a solid shot at GSB. If you’d like to discuss your profile in more detail, feel free to schedule a consultation with us. Wishing you the best in your MBA journey!
