Hi Mr. Rocket Ship, this is Kate Richardson with mbaMission, here to weigh in on your profile. I know there is limited space to provide details of your work accomplishments, but I’m going to assume your work experience is quite strong, with exposure at a top tech firm in a strategy function. Highly transferable to a top consulting firm. If you have 2.5 years now, and are planning to apply Fall 2021, I think that timing makes sense (on the other hand, if you’re applying now or just applied in Round 2, I worry that your work experience could seem a bit light). The other thing that worries me is your GPA but you’ve already taken care of the #1 tactic to mitigate a low GPA which is to get a high GMAT (well done!). If time, you could also take a supplemental course or two to fill any big gaps in your transcript. Lastly, if you don’t have any current “extracurriculars” I would look to see if you can restart or re-engage with any activities in the time you have before you apply (or maybe you have personal interests/pursuits that could “count” here). Sloan has a tough acceptance rate (only 11.5%!) but I think if you demonstrate your interest in the program and communicate how you’ll uniquely contribute to the Sloan community, you should have a pretty good shot. Good luck!
