A 710 GMAT and a 3.3 GPA for Dartmouth Tuck from a male Indian engineer? So you’re ten points below the class average of this fall’s entering class at Tuck (see: https://poetsandquants.com/2020/08/24/dartmouth-tuck-stands-on-the-precipice-of-gender-parity/?pq-category=business-school-news) and below the 3.5 GPA class average. On the other hand, you landed a great job with a prestigious manufacturing company. You have leadership experience in a team sport. Your extras, particularly in starting a girls’ safety workshop, is a real plus in your application. I wonder what your motivation was in doing that and bet there is a strong story behind it. …

Your extras, particularly in starting a girls’ safety workshop, is a real plus in your application. I wonder what your motivation was in doing that and bet there is a strong story behind it. These strong assets in your profile will make a difference for you, if not at Tuck at several of the other terrific business schools to which you intend to apply.
If there was ever a time for MBA programs to prove it’s a real holistic application process, then this would be it. Good chances at Tuck despite the below-average stats. Not the classic indian engineer, so you may be able to distance yourself from that pile. Your extras can speak to your commitment if you really connect with the adcoms in the essays.
