Major win is having four different internship experiences under my belt as an undergrad. 2 summers at MBB, 1 at a Fortune5 oil and gas company, and 1 at a F500 jet engine manufacturer. all went well with good reviews. The biggest win out of all is MBB full-time.
Hope to stay at MBB for a couple of years to gain managerial experience and later go to a more traditional engineering/tech company to be a manager. Using the MBA to learn how to become an effective manager and to build a network.

Hi, Mr. MBB Latino Engineer, congrats to you on some stellar work experience. The 2+2 programs are terrific if you know you want an MBA; they are a great option that has no penalty for applying later if you don’t make it. While there’s no exact formula for who makes it in these programs, to me, you seem like a compelling candidate with a better-than-average shot. I can see how the HBS endorsement would help you, and that can be a factor in who gets in. I’d advise you to do what you can to emphasize your leadership and impact in what you’ve done so far (what have you done as a board member of your organization? in your internships?) and …

Hello, this is Lisa Cummings of Stratus Admissions. Congrats on the full time offer! A 2+2 program, as many of these are called, is a great idea for college seniors who know that they want to got to business school. These programs accept very few students so their acceptance rates are below the average rates for the traditional applicant pool. That said, solid candidates get in every year. Successful applicants to these programs all have great scores, grades and jobs, that is a given. Schools expect that and are looking for more. They want to see solid leadership and impact in the organizations that the candidate belongs to- school, work, community. Your blurb here …

Your blurb here highlights your work success and board work in a professional society, all great but what other elements can you offer your schools? I’d like to learn about community involvement. Any mentoring or leadership in groups where you have worked to help others? Your solid academics and work experience will definitely be attractive to your schools, just be sure to flesh out the other areas also so your can really stand out in the pool. Good luck.
