About the Program

The Baylor online MBA program offers a 100% asynchronous education with an emphasis on ethical leadership and Christian values.

Offered six terms per year, with each term lasting 6.5 weeks, the Baylor OMBA can be completed in as little as one year.

“With flexible program starts, course offerings and five years to complete the degree, students can enroll when it is convenient for them,” Mary Reinhardt, Director of the Baylor Online MBA, says. “Online students are not required to be on the Baylor campus at any time during the program which means there are no geographic limitations.”

Curriculum

The OMBA curriculum is offered six terms per year and students can take 1-2 courses per term. Each course requires a time commitment of roughly 15 to 20 hours per week.

Additionally, the Baylor OMBA curriculum is taught by the same faculty who teach in Baylor’s traditional on-campus MBA and its Executive MBA programs.

“The curriculum is robust and includes current events and solutions that translate immediately from the classroom to current work experience as we prepare tomorrow’s leaders,” Reinhardt says. “Our technology allows our faculty to deliver great learning experiences and afford great opportunities for faculty and students to interact with each other on a regular basis, developing lifelong relationships.”

Highly Flexible

The biggest sell of the Baylor OMBA is its built-in flexibility for students. The program is 100% asynchronous, meaning students can complete their studies at a time that’s convenient for them.

“Classwork can be completed from anywhere in the world, as students are never required to come to campus,” Reinhardt says. “Students have the opportunity to network and take classes…

“Students have the opportunity to network and take classes with all students in the program, not just a cohort. Students may sit out terms as needed, as long as the degree is completed within 5 years; we understand life happens.”

However, Baylor still makes every effort to make its OMBA students feel a part of the Baylor community. OMBA Connect is a regularly scheduled networking event for Baylor students, faculty, and staff to virtually connect with and discuss a range of topics such as career management, current event, and industry discussions led by faculty as well as a time to connect with classmates.

“We are very intentional to include our students in as many Baylor events and experiences as possible,” Reinhardt says.

Additionally, the Baylor OMBA learning experience is highly interactive with live discussions and simulations, peer negotiations, and peer feedback.

“We continue to look for innovative ways to help our students be engaged as a Baylor student, learn, and exchange ideas online,” Reinhardt says.

Experiential Opportunities

Despite being 100% asynchronous, the Baylor OMBA offers a number of experiential opportunities for its online students to apply their studies.

The Washington DC Experience lets OMBA students travel to DC for a week to learn first-hand how public policy and international issues impact business. Students sit in on active congressional hearings and partake in exchanges on communication, strategy, and policy.

In addition to DC, Baylor also offers international experiential trips, where OMBA students can learn about conducting business on a global scale. Through Baylor’s global experiential trips, students compare and contrast countries at different stages in economic development and apply business knowledge to real-world issues.

Recent international cities include Dubai, Hanoi, Berlin, Beijing, Tokyo, and Buenos Aires.

“These trips allow online students to experience global business in a different culture, experience firsthand how our government operates and learn from experts in their fields as well as meet fellow MBA students in our two Executive MBA programs,” Reinhardt says.
