Bowling Green State University’s online MBA carries out the University’s mission, “A Public University for the Public Good.” At this B-school, students are taught the necessary skills to successfully lead their companies and institutions in both the public and private sector, and to start their own businesses serving a need in their communities.
The program is designed in a way to compliment full-time working students who are also taking care of families. To successfully juggle all of these responsibilities, students need a strong support system, and the faculty and staff are always ready to support them. This year, Bowling Green welcomed 227 students into their MBA class, totaling 334 students.
The OMBA can be completed in 1 year, but most students take 2 years to complete it. They require 30 credit hours, and the curriculum consists of 5 core courses – MBA 6030 Managerial Accounting, MBA 6040 Supply Chain Management, MBA 6050 Marketing Management and Strategy, MBA 6060 Financial Management in a Global Environment, MBA 6070 Business Ethics, Law, and Communication, and the capstone course (MBA 6090 Strategy Design and Implementation)
Concentrations are available in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management, and Marketing – and students complete four electives. There are no required internships, yet students are welcome to pursue one.
There are many opportunities for OMBAs to get involved outside of the school besides required curriculum. Bowling Green offers a Lunch and Learn networking series, EPIC Toledo socials and leadership summit, as well as student engagement events in the Schmidthorst College of Business.
