About the Program

The online MBA at the University of Massachusetts Amherst’s Isenberg School of Management is a flexible and affordable program that offers a high-quality education in business.

“Isenberg was one of the first schools to create high-quality Online MBA program, and it continues to set the standard as one of the largest such programs to achieve top national and international rankings,” Linda K. Enghagen, Senior Associate Dean for Academic Programs and Professor at Isenberg School of Management, says.

True Flexibility

The Isenberg OMBA is flexible by nature, allowing students to complete the degree 100% online from anywhere. The program does not have a residential requirement.

The Isenberg OMBA curriculum includes 11 required core courses that cover all aspects of business from accounting to business law.

Students can also choose from a diverse offering of electives and add a focused expertise in business analytics, entrepreneurship, finance, healthcare administration, or marketing.

Best of Both Worlds

While being 100% online, the Isenberg OMBA program offers a number of opportunities for students to connect in-person as well.

“Isenberg’s Online MBA with in-person option offers the best of both worlds—flexible online classes and face-to-face exposure to material, faculty, and colleagues,” Enghagen says. “[Students can] choose between taking classes online and in-person at one of our satellite locations in Massachusetts: Boston, Shrewsbury, or Springfield.”

Isenberg truly makes an effort to ensure its OMBA students feel a part of the community.

Isenberg truly makes an effort to ensure its OMBA students feel a part of the community.

“The program offers many events including networking events and discussion panels, as well as social gatherings such as football games and cocktail nights,” Enghagen says. “Students are also invited to attend our commencement events including our on-campus reception for all graduate students on the eve of commencement.”

Affordability & Accessibility

As a public state university, UMass Amherst prices its OMBA at $37,182, which is on the lower end of average online MBA tuition prices. Without the residential requirement, the Isenberg OMBA offers true accessibility to earning an MBA on your own schedule.

“[Our students are] busy people with families, hobbies, and professional obligations, and they choose our program because it allows them to fit their study time into packed schedules: while they’re traveling for business, after their kids go to bed, or during breaks between meetings,” Enghagen says.

Isenberg seeks students who value drive, ambition, and flexibility. And for those types of people, the Isenberg OMBA is the perfect fit.

“The flexibility and affordability of the program make it ideal for professionals looking for new challenges and opportunities,” Enghagen says.
