MSc Strategic Marketing is a one-year, full-time program that provides a uniquely ‘Imperial College view’ of marketing — i.e., one where marketing fundamentals intersect with the latest in technology and innovation, and where marketing science is blended with data-driven decision making. This highly practical program allows students to find solutions to real-world business challenges through lectures delivered by industry experts and includes a Marketing Consulting Project, Marketing Competition Plan or the option of a work placement.
The program has one intake each year in September.
Before starting the program, students will complete online pre-study modules giving a basic knowledge of areas which will be covered throughout the academic year. Core modules build on previous experience while introducing new and challenging disciplines. Modules in the autumn term will give a broad commercial understanding as a foundation for the focused study of marketing. Modules taken in the spring term will equip students with practical tools for the application of marketing strategies. Students will explore a range of topics in advanced marketing and strategy, understand the critical role of technology as a marketing challenge and opportunity, and apply this knowledge in the context of established companies and entrepreneurial ventures. In the summer term, students undertake a Marketing Consulting Project or a Work Placement and write a 5,000 word unsupervised report on a topic discussed in the Contemporary Marketing Practice elective series.
