Credentials: An entrepreneur, consultant, and educator, Standen is currently the founder and CEO of Odyssey Imports, a wholesaler and retailer of luxury products from the Mediterranean. Since 2007, he has raised over $24 million dollars in venture capital for his clients. An academic with a Ph.D. in business administration and entrepreneurship from IE Business School, Standen helped his alma launch its online MBA program, the first of its kind for a top-ranked MBA program.

Description: Covering the basics of finance and accounting, including this introductory course examines the terminology, fundamental concepts, and applications inherent to “financial analysis; planning, forecasting, and budgeting; cash flow, and strategic financing.” At the end, students will understand how finance shapes their functional area – and how their actions (in turn) impact the bottom line. The course will taught through 8-12 minute lecture videos, with students evaluated through quizzes.
