Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: During my time at Yamaha Motor Company, I developed financial models that led to creating an in-house finance company. The idea was to increase sales by having flexibility over our lending criteria. The experience taught me how to quickly analyze data, make well informed assumptions and present to executives.

Looking back on your experience, what one piece of advice would you give to future business school applicants? START EARLY. I can’t stress this enough. With work, personal life and unexpected events popping up, those deadlines creep up very quickly. Starting with the GMAT, I’d recommend studying and getting your target score well in advance of the application dates. Essays, school visits and coffee chats all take time so make sure you get a head start to ensure you have the best application possible.

What was the key factor that led you to choose this program for your full-time MBA and why was it so important to you? Fit was the key factor that lead me to Kelley. After doing my initial research, I knew I wanted to attend a smaller program with a tight knit, collaborative culture. I made sure I visited all the programs I applied to and looked to see how the students interacted with each other. I felt like Kelley hit all the “fit” marks for me, everyone was so welcoming and helpful and it just felt like the right program for me. Every current student or alumni I contacted was happy to take my calls and talk to me about their experiences. In addition, it seemed like all the students lived within a mile of each other and had a nice community going on!

What would success look like to you after your first year of business school?  Success after my first year would be landing my dream internship and making some life-long friends. I’d also like to continue to develop my leadership skills.
