Best MBA Entrepreneurship Programs: The Data Dump

The final 10% weighted category was the Entrepreneurship Research Score. We looked at articles published in eight academic journals between 2016 and 2018. If one school was responsible for the entire article, that school was awarded a point. If the authors came from different schools, the point was divided evenly among the schools. For example, if one journal article had two authors from Indiana Kelley, one from Wharton, and one from Minnesota’s Carlson School, then Indiana Kelley was awarded .50 and Wharton and Carlson were each given .25.

The eight journals were the Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Small Business Economics, Journal of Small Business Management, Entrepreneurship and Regional Development, International Small Business Journal, and Strategic Management Journal.
