The two courses, “Personal Financial Planning” and “Personal Financial Investing”, are designed to meet the increased demand in financial literacy. Students can begin registering for the first course starting March 23, according to a press release from the university. INCREASED INTEREST The class is a joint effort of Goizueta’s accounting and finance programs. School officials say the courses are meant to ensure that all Emory students are capable of navigating personal finance. “College students across the country, and their parents, are clamoring for schools to offer these kinds of courses,” says Erika James, the outgoing dean of Emory University’s Goizueta Business School . “We are responding to those calls by offering an important sequence of courses informed and taught by leading experts in finance and accounting. This class is a powerful demonstration of our commitment to listening to and acting on student needs.
