What has been your favorite part of Atlanta so far? What has made it such a great place to earn an MBA?

My favorite part of Atlanta is the diversity, and it’s a great place to experience other cultures and gain perspective. Atlanta is the headquarters for numerous top companies in the U.S. which makes getting an MBA in Atlanta a great opportunity to network and meet some of the people at those companies.

Aside from your classmates and location, what was the key part of the Scheller MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you?

Scheller’s practicum courses were one of the reasons I decided to attend Scheller’s MBA program. I wanted to join an MBA program that went the extra mile to ensure the students not only understood the course material but also allowed their students to get hands-on experience in seeing how the course material can be applied within an organization.

What course, club, or activity have you enjoyed the most so far at Georgia Tech?

Our marketing core class is the course I’ve enjoyed the most so far, and it’s ironic because it’s an area I thought I would never be interested in. The course is very engaging and covers areas I’m interested in such as consumer behavior, business frameworks, and strategy.

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far:

My biggest accomplishment is being a first-generation college student because now I have the opportunity to pay it forward and help others who are interested in taking a path similar to mine. I’ve gained so much knowledge and experience these past 10 years since I graduated high school, which has helped me advance in my career but also has helped me help others and remove some of the hurdles for them that I had to jump over.

Describe your biggest accomplishment as an MBA student so far:

My biggest accomplishment in the MBA program is that I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone by being less introverted which has allowed me spend more time with classmates and get to know them on a personal level.

What has been your best memory as an MBA so far?

My favorite memory so far in the program is attending the Scheller MBA Annual Holiday Party. The first semester has been challenging and the Holiday Party was a way to celebrate the holidays and also the end of the semester. The night was full of laughing, dancing, and lasting memories with not just my classmates but everyone in Scheller’s MBA program.

What advice would you give to help potential applicants gain admission into Georgia Tech Scheller’s MBA program?

The first piece of advice I would give is you should be your authentic self when filling out the application and during the interview. Secondly, you should have an understanding of why you’re choosing to get an MBA, and how your past education and experience can help you contribute to the continued success of Scheller’s MBA program.
