Where was the last place you worked before enrolling in business school? Before enrolling in business school, I served as the Head of Finance at TWINO, a dynamic global fintech company renowned for its innovative financial solutions and delivering stellar investment returns.

Where did you intern during the summer of 2023? During the summer of 2023, I worked full-time as the acting CFO at TWINO, a global fintech firm with headquarters in Riga.

Where will you be working after graduation? After graduation, I aim to work in a dynamic environment, utilizing my skills to make strategic investments for excellent returns.

Community Work and Leadership Roles in Business School: Engaged in the triathlon community, I actively promote sports awareness and organize health-related events to encourage community well-being. Moreover, I arranged student trips, cultivating stronger connections and exposure to emerging markets for a well-rounded experience.

Which academic or extracurricular achievement are you most proud of during business school? I am most proud of actively contributing to the investment banking and private equity community during business school, where I guide my peers in navigating their careers. This engagement proved instrumental in turning their aspirations into reality, significantly contributing to the realization of their career dreams.

What achievement are you most proud of in your professional career? I am most proud of my rapid career progression at Deloitte, delivering more than 40 international projects and raising from intern to Manager within 4.5 years, as well as becoming acting CFO of a global fintech within just six years of professional work. Simultaneously, I pursued full-time studies in law, showcasing my dedication to continuous learning and the ability to excel in diverse fields. This achievement shows my commitment to both professional excellence and personal growth.

Why did you choose this business school? I chose INSEAD primarily for its global emphasis and diverse community. The possibility to study in several continents and study with peers from all across the global enhances emotional intelligence and cultivates skills for thriving in cross-cultural environments. The school offers a transformative and truly international MBA experience.

Who was your favorite MBA professor? My favorite MBA professor was the Financial Accounting instructor Daniel Bens. Despite my expertise in finance, the professor presented the subject in a captivating way, unveiling new aspects and perspectives. His teaching style ignited a deeper understanding, enhancing my financial acumen beyond my prior knowledge.

What was your favorite course as an MBA? My favorite MBA course was Strategy. It offered a dynamic blend of theoretical concepts and real-world case studies, fostering critical thinking and strategic decision-making skills. The professor’s expertise and the interactive class discussions enriched my understanding of navigating complex business landscapes.

What was your favorite MBA event or tradition at your business school? My favorite MBA tradition is culture week, where students showcase their traditions, cuisines, and histories. It reflects our school’s commitment to diversity and global perspectives, fostering unity and cultural intelligence among the students. This impactful event strengthens our sense of

Looking back over your MBA experience, what is the one thing you’d do differently and why? I’d enhance my MBA experience by not only prioritizing more networking but also taking the initiative to organize more events. This would have further enriched my connections, fostering a vibrant and collaborative community.

What is the biggest myth about your school? The biggest myth about my school was thinking the claim “the best year of your life” was an exaggeration; it turned out to be true.

What did you love most about your business school’s town? In Fontainebleau, the charming blend of historic beauty and vibrant culture creates a unique environment for learning and building strong network of professionals all over the globe.

What surprised you the most about business school? I was pleasantly surprised by the strong emphasis on sustainability in business school. It’s integrated into the curriculum, and there are dedicated courses and events on ESG topics. The commitment extends practically to the campus, various eco-friendly initiatives in the canteen, showcasing the school’s dedication to holistic and environmentally conscious education.

Which MBA classmate do you most admire? I most admire my MBA classmate Shan Mian for his exceptional courage in transitioning from a successful career as a neurosurgeon to becoming a thriving investment banker. This bold and courageous move reflects his resilience, determination, and a willingness to embrace new challenges, making him an inspiring figure in our MBA cohort.

 What are the top two items on your professional bucket list?

  1. Lead a high-impact project that transforms a business or industry.
  2. Establish a mentorship program to empower aspiring professionals in my field.

What made Arturs such an invaluable addition to the Class of 2024?
