Baylor Hankamer Dean Departing

Waco, TX: “Dr. Sandeep Mazumder, Dean of Baylor’s Hankamer School of Business, announced that he will be leaving his current role at the end of the academic year to serve as the president of Berry College.

Mazumder, 42, joined Baylor in the 2021-2022 academic year. After four years in Waco at the Hankamer School of Business, Mazumder and his family will relocate to northern Georgia as the soon-to-be former dean begins his tenure as the ninth president of the sprawling, rural 2,000-student Berry College.

As Mazumder prepares for his departure, the Provost’s Office is forming a search committee for the next business school dean, which will be chaired by Dr. Jason Carter, the current dean of Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences. The search will consider internal and external candidates and is expected to begin in the coming weeks.

Mazumder called his four years at Baylor “a real privilege” and said that his gratitude for Baylor will remain as he assumes his new role.

“I’ve just been very blessed and honored to be the business school dean here at Baylor the last few years,” Mazumder said. “I thought that coming into the job, and it’s true now that I’ve done it for several years. I still feel that way; it hasn’t changed.”

ESMT Berlin Pioneers New Course On Llms In Entrepreneurship

Berlin, Germany: “Students at ESMT Berlin completed an innovative course on “Entrepreneurship with Large Language Models (LLMs)” for their master in innovation and entrepreneurship degree program. The first of its kind in Germany and among just a few in Europe, this innovative elective equips students with the unique skills needed to integrate and leverage advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technologies into entrepreneurial ventures and investment decision-making.

Matthias Qian, assistant professor of strategy and entrepreneurship at ESMT, who designed and led the class, said “LLMs are transforming business landscapes and redefining entrepreneurial possibilities. This course goes beyond technical understanding and really shows students how to apply LLMs strategically in the fast-evolving world of AI-driven business.”

In 15 separate sessions, “Entrepreneurship with LLMs” provided students with an intensive exploration into the mechanics and applications of LLMs, particularly in the context of startup ideation, venture capital analysis, and ethical AI deployment. Through hands-on participation in real-world scenarios, including a venture capital simulation, presentations to a senior jury, and sessions led by industry experts, students gained a deep understanding of how LLMs can enhance market research, refine business pitches, and optimize investor decision-making.”
