After seven years of owning and managing a business, I identified a critical need to enhance my skills in finance and data analysis. Through honest self-assessment, I recognized the value of a top-tier program that emphasizes finance and core business principles while offering flexibility for exploring various concentrations. UNC Kenan-Flagler meets these needs perfectly, and its ranking among the top business schools is an added benefit. What are some advantages you’ve seen in earning your MBA in Chapel Hill? Chapel Hill is known for its welcoming and friendly community. I arrived a week early to explore the city and get to know its residents. So far, I have found everyone to be patient and eager to assist. The supportive environment has been a great benefit in my MBA journey. What has been your first impression of the Kenan-Flagler MBA students and alumni you’ve met so far. Tell us your best Kenan-Flagler story so far. As a member of The Consortium, I had the privilege of attending the OP Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the main water system shut down, leading to the cancellation of the conference. With over 700 students from various prestigious MBA programs stranded, UNC Kenan-Flagler staff stepped in impressively. They promptly arranged alternative accommodations for the UNC students and even treated us to a delightful dinner – all covered by the school. This level of care and support left a strong impression on me. What course, club or activity excites you the most at Kenan-Flagle)? I am particularly excited about delving deeper into finance at UNC Kenan-Flagler. I believe that gaining a thorough understanding of financial principles will significantly enhance my ability to make informed and strategic business decisions. Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: My biggest accomplishment has been taking the risk at the age of 24 to start my own company, Conmotors Limited, a trade business specializing in importing and distributing industrial machinery, vehicles, and auto parts. Establishing a business in Nigeria’s developing economy presented significant challenges, including navigating complex licensing requirements and building trust with customers at such a young age. Overcoming these obstacles has been a major milestone in my career. What do you hope to do after graduation (at this point)? Given my knowledge of and passion for the automotive industry, my goal is to gain further experience with a major automaker or within supply chain management.
