Undergraduate School and Major: Chartered Accountant (ICAI), B.Com.(St. Joseph’s College of Commerce)

Aside from your classmates, what was the key part of the Indian School of Business MBA programming that led you to choose this school and why was it so important to you? ISB’s focus on building an entrepreneurial spirit was a huge draw for me. Growing up, the idea of building something of my own always excited me, and my investment banking role gave me the chance to work closely with founders and see the nuances of entrepreneurship up close. ISB’s extensive network of alumni founders – many of whom have built leading startups – offer an incredible wealth of knowledge. This network, along with the school’s ‘pay it forward’ culture, has created a supportive environment. The peer-to-peer learning has also been richer than expected, with few start-up founders in the cohort itself. Further, the one-year program’s intensity, with its clubs, leadership roles, and challenging coursework, continuously pushes us to take up new challenges and prioritize effectively. Growth often occurs outside of one’s comfort zone, and ISB makes sure there’s no shortage of such moments!

What has been your favourite course or extracurricular activity at the Indian School of Business? What has been the most important lesson that you have learned from it?  My favourite course has been Indian Financial Systems, taught by Professor Prasanna Tantri. Even with a background in finance, this course uncovered a lot of new ground for me on India’s monetary policies and their impact. Professor Tantri’s approach made the intricacies of the financial system relatable and relevant, linking real-world issues to macroeconomic conditions. I believe this knowledge is essential for everyone, as these forces shape the economic landscape and impact every aspect of business and society.

What makes Hyderabad such a great place to earn your MBA?: With ISB located close to Hyderabad’s financial district, we are right at the center of a fast-evolving city. The city has undergone a remarkable transformation over the last decade, with several global companies establishing their offices here, making it a rapidly growing business hub and creating abundant networking opportunities. Despite being a fast-growing city, Hyderabad also offers a unique balance of history and modernity, from the iconic Charminar to the bustling tech hub.

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: While I have had the chance to work on some challenging deals in private equity and M&A, one of my key accomplishments has been leading Deloitte’s Entrepreneur Summit, where I worked closely with senior partners of the firm as part of the business development initiative. My role involved engaging directly with over 60 founders, private equity investors, and venture funds, discussing potential investment opportunities and understanding diverse business models. Collaborating with a cross-functional, cross-border team was also an invaluable experience and a big lesson in teamwork at an early stage of my career.

Describe your biggest accomplishment as an MBA student so far: With a strong and growing interest in finance among the ISB cohort, serving as Vice President of the Finance Club has been a truly fulfilling part of my MBA experience. Along with my team, I organized multiple sessions with industry experts for the cohort, including one with India’s Chief Economic Advisor. This has been especially valuable for our cohort, which includes students from IB, PE, and VC backgrounds, creating an exchange of diverse perspectives. Taking on this role alongside other campus activities taught me to prioritize effectively amidst an intensive, packed schedule.

What is your class’s favourite hangout away from school? Why do you gather there?: Rameshwaram Café for dosas at 5 AM after pulling an all-nighter – whether after a long study session or a party that is still going strong!

What do you hope to do after graduation?: A key goal in pursuing my MBA was to broaden my horizons and explore new fields. Currently, after a few months of an intensive learning experience, I am drawn to opportunities at the intersection of investing and the consumer sector, where I can help high-impact businesses scale sustainably. Ultimately, I hope to channel this experience into building something that can make a difference.
