Undergraduate School and Major: Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México ITAM – Dual Degree: Economics & Law Most Recent Employer and Job Title: Head of Financial Planning & Analysis – Murguía Consultores The Yale School of Management is regarded as a purpose-driven program. What is your mission? How will your MBA at Yale SOM help you fulfill that mission? My mission is to empower young women in the US and Latin America, particularly in Mexico, to break free from traditional gender roles and pursue careers in finance and STEM. Inspired by my mother’s pioneering spirit in engineering, a male-dominated industry, outside of work I am dedicated to create opportunities for women to thrive in fields where they are underrepresented. In order to do so, I have been involved with Dress for Success, an organization that provides professional attire, development tools, career workshops and a support network to low-income women to advance their professional opportunities. I also initiated a STEM summer camp for children in Mexico, aiming to bridge the gap between public and private education. Yale SOM’s focus on principled leadership and social impact aligns seamlessly with my goals. The MBA program will provide me with the strategic, analytical, and leadership skills necessary to drive these initiatives forward. By leveraging the knowledge, network, and resources gained at Yale, I will be well-equipped to empower the next generation of female leaders in finance and STEM, ultimately contributing to a more inclusive and equitable society. Aside from your classmates, what was the key part of Yale SOM’s MBA curriculum or programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? It is the program’s empirical and data-driven approach (courses such as “The Executive” and its “raw” cases), which I believe will equip me with a holistic understanding of business challenges. The school’s commitment to creating leaders for business and society aligns with my goal of using consulting to drive positive change. What course, club, or activity excites you the most at Yale SOM? I am particularly enthusiastic about the Women in Management Club for its commitment to advancing gender equity in leadership. This aligns with my passion for empowering women in finance and business, and I look forward to contributing to initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion. The club’s networking events, mentorship opportunities, and advocacy programs will not only enhance my leadership skills, but also allow me to make a meaningful impact on gender parity within the finance industry. What is your unique quality that will enable you to make a big contribution to the Class of 2026? My ability to integrate legal and economic expertise with fintech innovation allows me to offer diverse perspectives and innovative solutions in class discussions and team projects. I bring a unique blend of analytical rigor and strategic vision to the table, enhancing collaborative learning and problem-solving. Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: Managing the due diligence process for USD $150 million dollar portfolio sale in a complex Chapter 11 process and leading a multinational restructuring filing process. What do you hope to do after graduation? I am a very curious person who loves learning about many different topics. Therefore, post-MBA I aim to pivot into Consulting. Consulting excites me because it offers the opportunity to solve diverse and complex problems across various industries and functions, allowing me to continuously learn and grow. The dynamic environment of consulting, where strategic frameworks and financial modeling tools are used to develop actionable recommendations, aligns greatly with my skills and interests. What advice would you give to help potential applicants gain admission into Yale SOM’s MBA program? Emphasize how their unique experiences and perspectives will enrich the Yale SOM community and contribute to its collaborative learning environment. If there is a particular cause that is important to them, make sure that it shows through the essays and interview. DON’T MISS: MEET YALE SOM’S MBA CLASS OF 2026
