My MD/MBA means a lot to me because it’s a combination of both their expertise and efforts. Undergraduate School and Major: Washington University in St. Louis, Anthropology: Global Health Most Recent Employer and Job Title: NA/ Medical School Clerkship Student, Washington University School of Medicine What has been your favorite part of St. Louis so far? What makes St. Louis such a great place to earn an MBA? I love how many lovely spots there are to discover in St. Louis. It’s an easy city to try new things, find your people, and craft a life you want to live. I’ve become an exercise instructor, taken pottery classes, and met my fiancé here. Aside from the global immersion, what was the key part of Washington Olin’s MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? The quality of the Olin entrepreneurship curriculum. As a medical student, I was able to take a joint course in healthcare innovation with Doug Villhard, an entrepreneurship professor and the academic director of entrepreneurship at Olin. It opened my eyes to how I could combine medicine and innovation to improve access to care in psychiatry. What course, club or activity have you enjoyed the most so far at Washington Olin? Introduction to Entrepreneurship has been my favorite class thus far. The process of crafting a solution from focusing on a problem in society was incredibly interesting and addictive. I refined a vague concept into a cohesive final pitch by the end of the course and I’m looking forward to developing it further in future courses. Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: Winning a 10k grant from Pinterest to continue my work in inclusive mental health advocacy content creation. Describe your biggest achievement in the MBA program so far: Becoming a Consortium Fellow. It’s a privilege to be part of such a strong force for equity in the higher business education space. What has been your best memory as an MBA so far? Networking with other tourists over a standing-room only tapas dinner in Barcelona with my fellow MD/MBA, Savannah Seupaul.
