Soon the school will welcome its first cohort of Master of Finance students IESE Business School has announced the launch of a new full-time Master in Finance program, designed to prepare early-career professionals for leadership roles in a rapidly evolving financial landscape. Set to begin in September 2026, the 11-month MiF will be delivered in English on IESE’s Madrid campus, with a required module in New York City. The program targets recent graduates with up to two years of work experience and strong quantitative backgrounds in STEM, economics, finance, or business. “Today’s CFO is no longer just a financial gatekeeper; they are a strategic partner in navigating technological disruption, sustainability challenges, and global complexity,” says Marc Badia, deputy dean of IESE Business School. AN INTERNATIONAL, ETHICS-FOCUSED CURRICULUM “With the MiF, we aim to shape forward-thinking professionals who combine deep financial expertise with analytical agility, ethical judgment, and the ability to lead,” Badia continues. “Our graduates will be ready to thrive in roles ranging from corporate finance and investment banking to entrepreneurial fintech ventures and CFO-track positions in global firms.” The program blends technical financial training with leadership development and ethics, in line with IESE’s long-standing educational philosophy. The curriculum includes courses in data analytics, valuation, sustainable finance, and AI. Students will select one of three specialized tracks: Corporate Finance, Capital Markets, or Banking and Financial Innovation. Beyond the classroom, students will participate in a hands-on finance immersion at IESE’s New York campus and may opt into an additional “banking week” in London. The program also includes a final thesis project aligned with each student’s chosen track, along with an internship opportunity. A GROWING TREND AMONG TOP SCHOOLS IESE’s new MiF joins a number of pre-experience finance master’s programs launched by top global business schools in recent years. In 2023, HEC Paris introduced a revamped Master in Finance tailored to ESG and fintech developments. The University of Chicago Booth School of Business launched its Master in Finance degree program in 2024, focused on quantitative methods and financial technology. Other schools, including London Business School and MIT Sloan, have expanded or restructured their early-career finance offerings in the last three years to reflect industry shifts in AI, sustainability, and analytics. The launch of IESE’s MiF signals continued momentum in the sector and rising demand for specialized graduate programs that blend financial rigor with real-world leadership training. The MiF is the second pre-experience master’s program offered by IESE, following the Master in Management, which launched in 2019. Both programs are taught at the school’s Madrid campus.
