Aside from your classmates and location, what was the key part of Northwestern Kellogg’s MBA curriculum or programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? Kellogg’s flexible curriculum was a key part in my decision-making process. I am drawn to the ability to tailor my academic path through Majors and Pathways, especially in areas such as Technology Management, Entrepreneurship, and Private Equity and Venture Capital. I started my MBA journey with a strong interest in product management and technology, but what excites me now is the chance to broaden my perspective and immerse myself in other areas like Venture Capital and Entrepreneurship. Kellogg provides the space to explore these interests through hands-on courses, clubs, and experiential learning, while building a foundation in strategy and innovation. It’s the perfect place to refine my focus and shape the next chapter of my career.

What makes Chicago such a great place to earn an MBA? Chicago is a dynamic business hub, with a mix of industries spanning from finance to healthcare to technology, making it an ideal city to grow my career and continue to build my network in. It provides the opportunity to not only learn in the classroom but also gain hands-on experiential learning with Chicago-based companies. Additionally, being in Evanston adds another layer, offering the immersive feel of a suburban campus and a tight-knit student life, while giving you easy access to the amazing opportunities Chicago has to offer.

Kellogg is known for a team-driven culture. What quality do you bring as a teammate and why will it be so important to the success of MBA class? I bring an “Art of the Possible” mindset that has guided how I approach problems and collaborate with others throughout my career. As a solutions engineer, I worked closely with cross-functional teams to take complex, early-stage ideas and turn them into real, impactful solutions. That experience has taught me how to encourage bold thinking while staying grounded in what it takes to execute. At Kellogg, I hope to contribute that same energy to group projects and club work—helping my community stretch ideas and push boundaries together.

What course, club or activity excites you the most at Northwestern Kellogg? While there are so many courses, clubs, and activities that I am excited to participate in, I am most excited about the Kellogg Tech Club and the Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital Club. My background is in AI and Automation, and I have had the opportunity to help build and scale software solutions for global clients. Now, I am eager to learn and collaborate with others that are passionate about technology and gain exposure to the investor side. These clubs will help me understand how to evaluate startups, support founders, and think critically about the components that make companies and products succeed.

What has been your first impression of the Kellogg MBA students and alumni you’ve met so far. Tell us your best Kellogg story so far. Kellogg MBA students and alumni are deeply passionate—not just about academics, but about the entire MBA experience. After speaking to Kellogg students and alumni, everyone highlighted something different, ranging from courses to professors to clubs and student-led trips. The excitement was genuine and contagious. One experience that stands out is when I connected with a current Kellogg student who was studying abroad in Sydney, Australia. Despite the significant time difference, he took the time to connect with me and shared his experience in immersing himself into a new culture while staying connected to the Kellogg community. That type of generosity and global experience made a lasting impression on me and made me extremely excited to start the program.

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: In my previous role as a Solutions Engineer, I partnered with a global bank that was struggling to manage the hundreds of millions of customer emails that they receive each year. The delayed responses were hurting customer satisfaction and straining operations within the bank. My team and I developed an AI-driven solution that could classify, route, and respond to emails while minimizing human involvement. In the first year, the solution processed over 17 million emails autonomously, improving response times and decreasing operational costs. While this was a major success for the bank, it also uncovered a broader opportunity to build a scalable solution that could streamline email processing for banks and businesses across a range of industries. We were able to quickly develop and scale the email processing solution to customers in Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare, and many other industries, creating an AI product suite that provides millions of dollars of savings for customers.

Looking ahead two years, what would make your MBA experience successful? Looking ahead two years, a successful MBA experience would mean gaining a broader understanding of business in the classroom and pairing that with hands on-experience to become a product leader who thinks like an investor and knows how to scale a business. I hope to discover a new passion, something unexpected that ultimately shapes and guides my career. I’m eager to explore all the different career paths and opportunities that Kellogg has to offer, and I know I will find myself in a space that feels new and exciting. Lastly, I hope to make lifelong friends and future collaborators that I can grow with well beyond the MBA.

What advice would you give to help potential applicants gain admission into Northwestern Kellogg’s MBA program? I would tell future applicants to start the application early, but more importantly, to be your true self. There is no perfect MBA candidate, so do not feel like you need to fit a specific mold to get into Kellogg. Everyone brings something different, and it is that mix of perspectives, experiences, and unique individuals that make Kellogg and the MBA experience so valuable. Stay grounded in your own story and don’t feel like you need to present a different version of yourself.
