Strategic Brand Management MiM Paris

A Fresh Perspective On Global Brand Strategy

Effectively developing and managing global brands is essential in today’s interconnected world. For aspiring leaders, the ability to navigate diverse markets and cultural nuances can be the key to standing out in the job market.

Johns Hopkins Carey Business School is introducing the Strategic Brand Management experiential learning course as part of its Master’s in Management (MiM) program to equip students with a global perspective and strategic skills applicable across various fields. The 9-month MiM program is designed for early-career professionals, building core business foundations through experiential learning and global exposure, particularly for those without an extensive business background.

Taking place in Paris, this immersive course invites MiM students to explore the multifaceted world of global branding in one of the industry’s most iconic cities. Paris, a preeminent center of the arts, design, culture, and commerce, is home to some of the world’s most recognized brands.

Why Paris? The Perfect Classroom For Brand Strategy

Studying in Paris gives students access to a living classroom rich with insights into successful brand strategies and implementations.

Beyond studying renowned brands such as Chanel, Hermes, and Sephora, that exemplify luxury and set global trends, students will experience iconic sites like the Champs-Élysées, Musée du Louvre, and Château de Versailles to develop a deeper understanding of how cultural heritage, the arts, and design play a role in branding. The immersive environment ensures that insights gained extend well beyond the traditional classroom.

What’s Different About This Experience?

The Strategic Brand Management course distinguishes itself through its focus on immersive, experiential learning that Carey has been nationally recognized for.

Before starting their journey to Paris, students attend two custom-designed learning modules on key concepts and approaches in strategic brand management from a global perspective, building a foundational understanding of core business principles.

Once in France, students engage in extensive onsite learning, including real-world business visits that bring theory to life. They’ll analyze branding strategies as they unfold in real time within one of the world’s most influential markets, deepening their understanding that elevate their educational experience.

Building Business Skills Through Global Immersion

This program deepens students’ knowledge and strengthens the essential business skills needed in today’s global economy. Participants will sharpen their strategic thinking and brand analysis skills by applying core concepts in an international context and gaining actionable insights that are applicable across industries and cultures.

Emphasizing cross-cultural awareness, this course prepares students to better navigate the complexities of global markets, preparing them to tackle challenges confidently.

A Global Perspective For Early-Career Professionals

For early-career professionals in the MiM program, this experiential course offers a distinct competitive advantage for career success. It complements the program’s core course structure by building on foundational business knowledge and introducing global brand strategy early in students’ professional development.

According to the Master’s in Management Academic Program Director Haiyang Yang, “The Strategic Brand Management course offers students a unique opportunity to broaden their global perspective and cross-cultural understanding, and develop competency in building, managing, and maintaining strong brands. This is a transformative and memorable experience that prepares students for professional success.”

By evaluating brands through a multicultural lens, students are positioned to make substantial contributions to globally connected organizations. And employers seek individuals who understand brand management and implementation, making this course a pivotal asset for future success.

Career Relevance: Bridging Learning And Real-World Application

Integrating international experiential learning into the curriculum significantly enhances career readiness. From brand strategy to global awareness, the skills acquired prepares students for long-term success. With these insights, they will emerge ready to tackle global business challenges, distinguishing themselves as leaders capable of bridging across cultures.

Looking Ahead: Global Experiential Learning In The MiM Program

The launch of the Strategic Brand Management course in Paris highlights Carey’s commitment to innovative education and reinforces the MiM program’s focus on globally oriented experiential learning. By embedding experiential learning opportunities into a curriculum grounded in essential business fundamentals, Carey empowers students to approach business challenges with confidence and a global perspective.

Grounded in the Johns Hopkins legacy of excellence and research, we aren’t trapped by tradition. We’re inspired by it.
