MID-ATLANTIC

On paper, the Mid-Atlantic feels comparable to the Northeast. Washington DC vs. New York City. Philadelphia vs. Boston. The I-95 corridor. Four seasons. Scenic ports. And amazing seafood too! Reality is, their earnings are comparable too, at least on the average side. There were 18 business schools whose graduates averaged $150K or more to start, just three programs short of the mark set in the Northeast. Like the Northeast, Stanford GSB grads out-earned their counterparts in the Mid-Atlantic. They averaged $202,833 to start – nearly $13K more than the 2025 Stanford MBA hires in the Northeast. MIT Sloan grads ranked 2nd in base pay in the Mid-Atlantic at $187,400 on average. In terms of the highest-paid Mid-Atlantic, that honor belongs to a Sloan grad at $300,000. In fact, the Mid-Atlantic also keeps pace with Northeast in the number of business schools graduating one or more MBAs who make $175,000 or more to start, with 19 programs reaching that level (compared to 23 in the Northeast).
