1+1 Lecture Tokyo:  US-China Trade Conflicts and the Impact on Japan

The United States and China have been engaged in a trade conflict since Spring 2018. The Trump administration imposed extra tariffs on a large amount of Chinese exports to the US and China responded with a comparable amount of extra tariffs on imports from the US. Will the two largest economies of the world find a way to avoid further escalation of tariff exchanges to a full-fledged and long-lasting trade war? What would be the impact of a US-China trade war on the Japanese economy? Professor Xu Bin will provide his analysis on these issues.
