Vanessa Uchiyama

Consultant Bio

I am an economist from Universidad del Pacifico (2005) in Lima, and hold an MPP (Master in Public Policy) from Harvard University (2012). I am a consultant on economic issues for multilateral organizations and international companies.

Studying a master’s degree at Harvard was a transformative experience. Not only did it allow me access to a world-class education, but it also opened many doors to new career opportunities. However, I clearly remember that the application process was quite demanding, especially for someone like me, who had a full-time job.

Over the years, I have helped several friends and acquaintances with their applications to different master’s degree programs and through Global Citizens I want to use my experience and knowledge so that more Latino American students can meet their goals of obtaining a graduate degree in the United States.

We are Vanessa and Marcela, two Peruvians, alumni from Harvard University and the Thunderbird School of Global Management, living in the United States. Together, we have created Global Citizens, as an initiative whose mission is to provide more resources and opportunities for young Latin American professionals to access the best graduate programs in the United States and the world.
