As you and others undoubtedly know, a low undergraduate GPA is a true red flag in elite graduate admissions. A school may well assume that you lack the discipline to do well in academics if your GPA is woefully low, particularly in an age of grade inflation. Your 2.45 clearly won’t help you get into any top MBA program. But you have a very good justification for those mediocre trades: your accident from the skydiving adventure. Breaking one’s back and then rising above that tragedy as you clearly have done should erase any concerns about your GPA. This is especially true given your 4.0 in a master’s program.
