Hi Mr. Perseverance, Kristen from MBA Prep School here. Your name really sums it up, you certainly have persevered and come out on top! I’m assuming you recently applied for deferred entry, so while it’s too late for me to give you feedback on your essays I’d love to share some interview tips. While I’m sure you shared more details around the changes you implemented on campus as student body president in your essays, this sounds like a real selling point. Be sure to paint a picture of how you accomplished these goals, any obstacles that stood in your way, etc. Your experiences should definitely come in handy during the Team Based Discussion at Wharton, but make sure to also be open to the perspectives …

Be sure to paint a picture of how you accomplished these goals, any obstacles that stood in your way, etc. Your experiences should definitely come in handy during the Team Based Discussion at Wharton, but make sure to also be open to the perspectives of others and bring them into the discussion. You will also want to highlight any accomplishments you’ve had within your internships. I’m assuming your current role is the strategic financial analyst in tech, so be sure to have answers ready around how you hope to grow over the next 2-4 years pre-MBA, and then connect that in the timeline to consulting, followed by entrepreneurship. Although your GRE may still be an obstacle in the process, the fact that you have already received an interview invitation proves it is not the only factor being considered and your resilience, academic performance, campus leadership, and early career achievements can shine through. Good luck!
You do have an advantage belonging to a minority group and If you are applying this year, you have a very high chance to get in. Don’t miss this opportunity.
