Graduating magna cum laude from Tecnologico de Monterrey and then landing jobs at two of the most admired consumer goods companies in the world is impressive stuff. Congratulations. Graduating magna cum laude from Tecnologico de Monterrey and then landing jobs at two of the most admired consumer goods companies in the world is impressive stuff. Congratulations. Your extras also add to your candidacy. To wit, the fact that you have volunteerd as a translator for Doctors without borders in Colombia, played Varsity Basketball in college and founded a non-profit organization to raise awareness among drunk-driving in Mexico. I would imagine there is a personal story behind your decision to launch that organization and I would bet it is a powerful one that you should use in your essays. The only drawback to your application–at least as can be seen in this succinct profile of yourself–is your GRE score. For Chicago Booth, which unfortunately has yet to publish a class average for its GRE entrants, a 308 feels low. I would estimate Booth’s average to be more in the 320-plus category. And while Booth does take GRE scores, it was a laggard here and quietly prefers the GMAT. So my advice to you, if you really want Booth, is to get that GRE score a bit higher because you have everything else going for you. Why give them a reason to turn you down? Good luck.
