Specifically, I am really interested in the Wharton Lauder institute given its international bent and the fact that I can focus on Middle East studies and Arabic while there. I am fluent in Arabic and traveled to the Middle East many times, and work heavily with refugees in my area.

I am the president of my school’s refugee resettlement program, serving the city and helping to integrate refugee families into the community. We teach english and provide resettlement services. I have also gotten State Department scholarships to study Arabic in Morocco and Jordan. I interned at GS IBD this past summer and will return full time.
I’d like to work at a development financial institution such as the World Bank or the IMF. I’d love to work in impact investing in the Middle East focusing on water and infrastructure. My role at GS is on the structured finance IBD desk. There, I work on international infrastructure projects in SA and Africa sparking my interest in DFIs.

Hi Mr. Yale Undergrad, Your achievements at Yale and outside are impressive! This is Debbie Choy from mbaMission. I think you have a lot of strengths in your profile – unique international focus on the Middle East and language skills, robust community leadership in refugee work. I think your background aligns very well with the Wharton Lauder program. Your GPA is very solid, although I would love to see a stronger GRE score. Given your major, be sure to demonstrate your Quant chops through a +160 Quant score. If not, you could look into taking an external Math course to show Wharton that you’re improving your skills. As you put your apps together, be sure to weave in your personal stories to explain why you’re passionate …

As you put your apps together, be sure to weave in your personal stories to explain why you’re passionate about the Middle East and refugee work. If you can weave in your personal stories in a compelling way, it would help your application stand out from the crowd. My estimate of your chances are based on your current GRE score. But if you can bump up your score, your chances will also improve. If you wish to discuss your profile in further detail, feel free to schedule a consultation with us. Mr. Yale Undergrad – Thanks for posting your profile! Susan here from Stratus.
I really like your profile and think that Wharton will as well. While your GRE is below the average, your strong academic performance at Yale will serve you well. If your Q score on the GRE is softer (below 160) you might consider taking a math course to demonstrate that you are prepared for the rigor of Wharton.
