The Argyros MBA: What You Need To Know

Founded in 1977 and named after George L. Argyros, a Chapman alum and former U.S. ambassador to Spain, Chapman University’s Argyros School of Business is based in Orange County, California, right between Los Angeles and San Diego. The school is home to a number of research centers and independent research institutes, offering MBA students access to leaders in economics, finance, and international business. Just a few blocks from campus is Old Towne, a charming area with beautiful historic homes known as a “major city with small-town ambiance.” Old Towne Orange is also a hot spot for filming movies and TV shows.

The full-time MBA program is designed for recent graduates and early-career applicants who are looking for a solid foundation in business management to launch their careers. The MBA requires students to take 17 courses, which can take cohorts of just under 30 students anywhere from 16-21 months to complete.

Chapman Argyros offers eight areas of specialization in the areas of business analytics, marketing, finance, entertainment and media management, entrepreneurship, global business, accounting, and strategic management.

The MBA hosts a career residency, a two-day offsite career intensive for full-time MBAs designed for networking building with current students and alumni.

Each fall, full-time MBA students participate in our MBA Mentor Program, which pairs students with local business leaders across a broad range of experience and industries. Argyros designed this as an added bonus to build career-specific networks and skills.

Popular co-curricular opportunities include pursuing leadership roles in the Chapman Graduate Business Association, Argyros Ambassador, and Women in Business programs – all of which connect students to community and national business leaders, allow them to develop skills, and assist in network building.

Students can also pursue dual degrees in film and television production – an MBA/MFA – as well as a full MBA program in Prague. The Prague MBA offers students the opportunity to live and work in the heart of the Czech Republic while studying at the Anglo-American University. Students who can’t live abroad for 17 months can opt into travel study programs in Prague, Scandinavia, or South America. The school rounds out its MBA offerings with executive, accelerated, and part-time programs.

“Connecting talented students, renowned faculty, and influential business leaders in a personalized setting are what distinguishes the George L. Argyros School of Business and Economics. At the Argyros School, you won’t merely enter an academic program — you will join a community,” says Argyros School of Business Dean, Thomas Turk, Ph.D.
