The Zicklin School of Business MBA: What You Need To Know

The Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College in New York City was founded on the idea of the “transformative power of knowledge.” It’s an idea that revolves around nearly every aspect of what Zicklin has to offer.

One of the strengths of the Zicklin School of Business is its location. Located in the heart of Manhattan’s financial district, the school sits within a hub of business, finance, and entrepreneurial professionals. New York City is known for its cultural diversity, home to just under 8 million people, which makes it an exciting place to live and study.

Zicklin prides itself on offering a flexible business education that keeps students up to date with the most in-demand knowledge. The Zicklin MBA is a 48-credit two-year program made up of both foundational courses and electives. Students move through the program in cohorts studying the same core curriculum, which encourages collaboration and peer learning, and specializations help MBAs hone in on specific areas of interest.

“There’s just something about Zicklin that just boosted my confidence level. It’s super charged from what it was to what it is today, and the reason for that is because I just feel so prepared. I feel there’s nothing that I can’t do after I leave this place,” says Full-Time MBA student Dean Gavindane.

The program begins with project management–focused classroom study, followed by three months of team-based consulting on real-time, real-world business challenges with local NYC businesses, and wraps up with a semester-long consulting capstone.

If the full-time MBA doesn’t seem like the best fit, prospective students can also apply to Zicklin’s Evening MBA or Executive MBA program.

Outside of the required curriculum, many Zicklin MBAs often join graduate student clubs, compete in case and startup competitions, and attend conferences and career fairs. Many Zicklin MBAs go on to work for Amex, Barclays, Deloitte, Moodys, New York Life, Nielsen, NYU Langone Medical Center.
