Students enrolled in Notre Dame’s Executive Master of Nonprofit Administration (EMNA) receive a solid business education and acquire insights and strategies to elevate a not-for-profit organization into a more effective and sustainable force for good. Students customize their experience through relevant electives.
The EMNA is designed for individuals on fire for nonprofit service who come from a variety of backgrounds and have at least two years of post-undergraduate nonprofit work or volunteer experience.
Students complete 42 credit hours (30 core credits, nine elective credits, and three credits for a field project) in 14 to 48 months. The EMNA begins in the summer with a four-week on-campus immersion into the program. Fall and spring classes are taken online. For the next two, three, or four summers, students return to Notre Dame for at least two weeks at a time.
The core curriculum includes fundamentals of managing nonprofits – from small community-based initiatives to large national organizations – and the exploration of strategic issues that face nonprofit leaders. Elective choices cover leadership, investment, entrepreneurship, tax policy, and e-commerce.
