The International Master of Business Administration (IMBA) program at the Darla Moore School of Business offers an international business education that prepares students for a global environment. Global issues and experience permeate the program’s core classes and the program is designed to

expose students to international business issues from the first day of class.

Step one of the program is the lock-step business core where the purpose is to build a fundamental knowledge base in the functional areas of business. Step two involves the selection of intensive language study or global coursework. Step three is an internship and the final step involves elective coursework.

Each student in the International MBA program has the opportunity to develop competency in a second language and will complete a rigorous program of graduate business study, develop an understanding of another culture and business environment, and integrate academic course work through the experience of an extensive internship. For U.S. nationals, the internship is usually outside the United States; for non- U.S. nationals, the internship is in the United States.
