Recalling your own experience, what advice do you have for applicants who are preparing for either the GMAT or the GRE?  Do not make the mistake of underestimating the exam or overestimating your preparedness. Take several practice exams to ensure you will not be surprised on test day. Surprises on the GMAT are rarely pleasant.

Based on your own selection process, what advice do you have for applicants who are trying to draw up a list of target schools to which to apply? Evaluate schools as you would job applicants. Think of a schools employment report as their resume, rankings as recommendations, and tuition as salary. As with any hiring, be certain the schools you choose are the best candidates for the position.

What advice do you have for applicants in actually applying to a school, writing essays, doing admission interviews, and getting recommenders to write letters on your behalf? Applying to an MBA program is not unlike invading a country, planning is everything. You will almost certainly fail without a detailed strategy, precise execution, and an actionable contingency plan. But keep in mind this isn’t warfare, so don’t stress out.

What led you to choose this program for your full-time MBA? As I alluded to earlier, I hired Foster for a job. A job whose responsibilities include better positioning me for success in any direction I choose to take. I chose Foster because they were the best applicant and would work the hardest to earn my tuition.

What would you ultimately like to achieve before you graduate? Long-term strategic thinking.
