Description: Integrating traditional theory and practical application, this course will help students better understand the structure and culture of their organization (and make “small-scale changes” within it). In particular, students will learn the differences between leadership and management; how to motivate employees to produce at their best; key signs of management failure; and approaches to goal-setting, decision-making, coordinating resources, selling ideas, and driving change. In short, students will emerge with strategies for becoming a better manager. The course includes weekly lecture videos, readings, and quizzes, along with a peer-assessed assignment to pull the content together.
