Most recently, Scott oversaw the revision of McKinsey’s Organizational Capacity Assessment Tool (OCAT), which Philanthropy University notes “has been used by thousands of funders and nonprofits, and has been translated into 11 languages.” Graded: Students will earn a certificate of accomplishment by completing half of the weekly assignments and administering the OCAT at their organization. Description: How many clients can a nonprofit help? Does an organization have the financial means and resources to move into other services? Can we easily replicate our model in other markets? Do we risk diluting our impact by increasing in scale? These “capacity” questions can make or break a nonprofit. In this course, students will apply McKinsey’s OCAT tool to assess their vulnerabilities, along with identifying potential options to increase the reach and value of their mission. The course will be taught through videos, articles, online discussions, and individual and team assignments. Review: No reviews.
