P&Q’s Must Reads: Northwestern Kellogg Tops P&Q’s 2022-2023 Executive MBA Ranking

Hello everyone  –- Welcome back to Poets&Quants’ Must Reads, a quick, digestible recap of the top business school news, sponsored by CentreCourt, P&Q’s virtual admission events.

I’m your host, Kristy Bleizeffer, and I’ll be highlighting the most important P&Q stories you might have missed. So, let’s get to it.

No. 1: Northwestern Kellogg Tops P&Q’s 2022-2023 Executive MBA Ranking

Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University has returned to a familiar place in Poets&Quants’ 2022 composite ranking of the best EMBA programs in the United States: The very top.

Kellogg shot up to No. 1 after finishing 13th in P&Q‘s composite ranking of 2021 — a year in which several top schools fell sharply after choosing not to participate in one or more of the premier rankings.

Rounding out the top five were Columbia Business School, the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, New York University’s Stern School of Business, and Yale School of Management.

No. 2: Meet The Indian Institute Of Management Ahmedabad MBA Class Of 2023

We continue our popular Class Of series this week with the MBA Class of 2023 from the Indian Institute Of Management Ahmedabad. In it, we feature 11 inspiring MBAs from the school, including tech startup founders, business journalists, and a Scientific Officer for India’s Department of Atomic Energy.

No. 3: Stanford Jobs & Wharton’s class profile

This past week, we got some illuminating data from two of the top business schools in the world. Stanford Graduate School of Business released its jobs report for the class of 2021, and MBA outcomes bounced back somewhat after a couple of tumultuous years. Employment within three months of graduation reached 91% for last year’s grads, while average salary reached an all time high of $231,849. You can read the full report now on our homepage.

Meanwhile, the Wharton School released its 2024 incoming MBA class profile, showing a double-digit drop in applications, but reaching gender parity for the second straight year. Wharton’s 13.9% drop in apps this cycle could portend similar declines at other top schools this season, and we discuss why in the full story, which you can find in our news tab.

No. 4: Our Weekly Round Up of  News You Can Use

No matter where you are in your B-school journey, we bring several helpful stories for you this week.

First up: We take a look at what MBA admissions looks for in work experience, and reveal what those MBA employment reports won’t tell you.
