What has been your favorite part of Atlanta so far? What has made it such a great place to earn an MBA? Atlanta has everything. It’s a melting pot of cultures, technologies, businesses, and foods. You can find anything to do here such as hiking on the Atlanta BeltLine, wine tasting in the north Georgia wineries, or going to a concert at one of the many venues.

Aside from your classmates and location, what was the key part of the Scheller MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? The key aspect I was looking for was community. Scheller does a fantastic job at building community with its small-sized cohort, student led clubs, group assignments in class, and many social events. The size of the cohort made it easy to talk to every single person during orientation so when we started our first day of class, everyone already knew each other’s names. Scheller professors challenge the students with present day problems that require students to rely on each other’s different strengths and backgrounds to succeed. Each club and organization at Scheller has its own social events which all add up to something going on almost every night for students to meet and hang out.

What course, club or activity have you enjoyed the most so far at Georgia Tech? Football tailgates are the best way for everyone to get together and have a fun time, even if you don’t watch football. It’s also a great way to meet and network with alumni who return to campus.

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: I reverse engineered a gantry handwriting robot to use in my destruction lab. I was able to utilize all of what I learned from my engineering classes to take apart this technology my company had acquired and rebuild it to figure out how it worked. After learning how the machine worked, I was able to modify and integrate it into streamlining and improving other parts of the lab.

Describe your biggest accomplishment as an MBA student so far? My manager of my graduate research assistant (GRA) position wanted to prepare me for the consulting career I plan on pivoting towards. He set up my assignments to be similar to consulting tasks. I was able to practice many skills by completing my GRA projects that culminated to presenting my work to Scheller’s Deans and Directors.

What has been your best memory as an MBA so far? The fondest memory I have made so far has been singing with my cohort at a karaoke social in Duluth. We all filled up on a boat load of Korean BBQ beforehand and headed to the venue after our food comas wore off. At karaoke, our cohort bonded with a plethora of songs and soju.

What advice would you give to help potential applicants gain admission into Georgia Tech Scheller’s MBA program? Be yourself. It sounds corny but Scheller really creates an environment where your background and personality are celebrated no matter how different. Everyone has unique skill sets and hobbies that we all want to know about and share.
